The Community Co-Op, A Resource for Homeschooling Families

Welcome

The Community Co-op for Near West Homeschoolers is a brand new not-for-profit corporation, offering a once-a-week day of enrichment classes in a community environment for families. We're a group of homeschooling parents dedicated to enriching our homeschooling experience by bringing families together for a day of fun and learning.

We meet on Thursdays at the Parkview Presbyterian Church, located at Oak Park Avenue & Jackson Boulevard in Oak Park, IL, September through May.

Our mission is to create an environment for educational enrichment where homeschooling families can work co-operatively in an atmosphere of mutual respect, organized structure with flexibility, and interest-driven exploration.

Student Benefits:

  • spend additional time with other children
  • enjoy subjects that are more fun to do in groups
  • learn from other adults
  • be a part of an on-going, weekly community

Parent Benefits:

  • be a part of an on-going, weekly community
  • enjoy having a team to work with in homeschooling
  • enjoy a quiet break period during the co-op day, to chat with parents in the parents' room, or read a book and have a cup of tea
